Top 10 TV Shows Blogfest

I posted an "Oops" post earlier that was writing related...But I'm the one who made an oops by forgetting today's 'Top 10 TV Shows Blogfest' Day!  My bad!  This blogfest is hosted by Alex Cavanaugh.

So here are my picks, in no particular order...

1.  Pushing Daisies

2.  The Unusuals

3.  Dexter

4.  CSI

5.  Get Smart

6.  Criminal Minds

7.  The Closer

8.  Nurse Jackie

9.  She-Ra, Princess of Power

10.  30 Rock

Notice how several of mine were cancelled prematurely?  Obviously I think that was a mistake.  Many are, surprisingly to me, ones that are currently in programming!  But there are a few oldies...She-ra was my favorite as a child and I now watch it on Hulu with my son (posted about it here).  Get Smart is a show I was too young for, but think it was just so well-done and hit the comic mark perfectly.  The re-make movie wasn't bad, either.

No surprise there are several detective/murder shows on my list!  Hope you all had fun with this blogfest.  Click around the links to see others' picks.

  1. Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes Dexter, one of the greatest shows ever. Get Smart was classic writing. Love that show. I have to check out Nurse Jackie as a lot of my friends watch it.

    Stephen Tremp

  2. Must admit I haven't seen any of the shows, except maybe one or two parts of CSI with the kids. The fact that your favorites were cancelled prematurely, probably means your taste is not mainstream. That's good ... I know some people think I'm a little bit arrogant about books, movies, music and TV, sorry about that >:)

    Cold As Heaven

  3. I will never forgive ABC for cancelling Pushing Daisies. I don't hate them enough to stop watching their other shows, but I'll never forgive them.

And I just finally started watching Dexter this summer. LOVE it.

  4. Get Smart was a fun show. I watched a few episodes of Pushing Daisies, it was interesting.

    Thoughts in Progress

  5. CSI - good for you! And 30 Rock almost made my list. Such a quirky show.
Thanks for participating - you made it!

  6. how can you have She-Ra without including He-Man. What about Jem?

  7. Great choices! Dexter is a favorite of mine.

  8. I watched the first and most of the second season of Criminal Minds, but when Gideon left it just wasn't the same. Nice list though, some pretty good shows.

  9. I totally spaced shera!!!!! How could I? LOL great list

  10. she-ra... i forgot about he-man....

  11. I only knew one of your choice but enjoyed your writing about the ones I didn't.
    Good post.

  12. Pushing Daisies made many lists. It didn't make mine because I forgot about it...I keep saying that about so many good shows! I can't believe when you make a list, how many can fall out of your brain! Great list!

  13. I'm glad to see you "GOT SMART".

  14. We loved Pushing Daisies, too. And were sorry when it got canceled.Sylvia Dickey Smith

  15. I could make a whole top ten list on all canceled shows. Sigh. It happens to the best of us!

  16. I didn't think the UNUSUALS got a fair chance and was cancelled too quickly. The CLOSER was one of those that was cut at the last minute, and DEXTER is a show that I'm watching on DVD but I'm only into the 2nd season. :)

  17. pushing daisies was on my list too! my hubby loved the unusuals.

  18. Stephen- We LOVE Dexter, only we gave up Showtime at the very end of last season so we're a little behind. Same for Nurse Jackie, though I REALLY like it: smart writing and great characters.

Cold- I like shows that make me think and have interesting, quirky characters. This means, as you pointed out, they aren't ones that usually appeal to everyone. I'm good with that!

Karen- You made me think...nope, I don't think I watch any other ABC shows! This year Private Practice conflicts with other shows, so it won't make the DVR lineup, which means my last ABC show is off the list! Oh, well.

Mason- You don't strike me as a TV watcher. I wonder what your list would be like...Get Smart was just fun!

Alex- I did. Sorry I was late! Love CSI...but only the original!

Budd- I wasn't into Jem, and I'm a girl, so it was She-ra, not He-man for me. Hope that's okay!

Amanda- Thanks, and I definitely agree!

Clarissa- Curious about what your choices would be...

Bry- I agree! My husband and I mourned Gideon, but soon came to accept the new guy. Ha! Can't even remember his name!

Summer- Can't forget the Princess of Power!

iZombie- What's funny is I saw a He-man toy today! They sell it in a set with Superman. The connection? I don't know, but my son wanted it and he's 5.

Yvonne- Which one did you know? Glad you enjoyed the rest!

Jennie- Definitely. Already seen some and wished I could add 11, 12, 13...But I wouldn't take any off my list!

Stephen- Ha...Sooooooooo witty. Now I have to check your list...

Sylvia- Loved your post today at Patricia's blog. And that was a sad day.

Hannah- Good point. Maybe I'll try that next time.

DL- The Closer isn't cancelled! Kyra Sedgewick just won her second or third Emmy for the show and the next season is in January! We'll have to go the DVD way for Dexter, too.

  19. I've wondered about The Unusuals!!! Glad to know you've enjoyed it! Looking into it for sure!

    Criminal Minds is my favorite!!!

  20. I'm sad to say I've only seen 2 on your list: CSI & Get Smart - which I loved! I'll have to check out some of these other ones!

  21. Get Smart is the only one that I've seen. I guess I am television deprived.

    Tossing It Out

  22. Love, love, love Dexter! I've never heard of The Unusuals. Maybe it did cancel too soon!

  23. Pushing Daisies has come up alot, so I think I'll have check that one out. Great list!

  24. PUSHING DAISIES were visually pretty stunning, I like innovative shows like that! And we also love Lee Pace :)

  25. I loved pushing Daisy's. And i would also like to say its nice to see someone else who likes criminal minds, i love that show Dr. Reed is one of my favorite people on that show but the whole cast is amazing!
