Oscars Special Post

Helen Hayes wins Best Actress for The Sin of Madelon Claudet at the 5th Academy Awards in 1932.

Hello, Hollywood!  Tonight is the night and, as I write this, actors and actresses are getting shallacked, glossed, matted, and fabbed.  I love a little glamour shot in the arm every once and a while, so here are some fun links to the 82nd Academy Awards.

1.  Predict which gown actresses like Zoe Saldana, Vera Formiga, and Sandra Bullock will don for the big night.

2.  Fashion not your thing?  Check out these crazy moments from Oscars past, listed on PopArtDiva's blog.

3.  If you missed 2009's Oscars, you missed a fantastic Hugh Jackman.  And just because he is hot and talented, I give you the link to his opening number.  Highly entertaining!

4.  Now, for my favorite Oscar moments!  Two of them--Adrian Brody winning for The Pianist (what a kiss!) and Roberto Benigni winning for Life is Beautiful (what an entrance!).

5.  A little more fahion: the best and the worst Oscar looks.
Allure's picks
Shine's best & worst looks ever
Cosmo's list (this is a good one)

6. And for those who, like me, think the best cinema is classic cinema, here is a look at Oscars in the best era--here and here.

  1. Believe it or not, but it's 2AM here in Europe when the ceremony starts over there in your place :), and since it's already Monday and the beginning of the new working week, most people can't watch Oscars live.

But nevertheless, there are 70% chances that HOLLYWOOD SPY will bring you the chics and freaks from the red carpet tomorrow :)))

  2. Oh, Dez, how frustrating! I can't wait to check out your site tomorrow. :)

  3. I totally forgot that was tonight. It should be a great year. BTW - There is award for you on my blog. :-)

  4. Thanks for the links - fun stuff!

  5. Hmmm Fashion eh? I'm still waiting for someone to make a Buffalo Bill reference when they ask "who are you wearing?"

  6. Fashion NOT my thing, but I will check out the past stuff. Still got forty minutes to kill before the show...

    Go Avatar!

  7. I checked out some of those links...thanks for posting these. I never had the chance to watch the oscars.
