Top 10 TV Shows Blogfest

I posted an "Oops" post earlier that was writing related...But I'm the one who made an oops by forgetting today's 'Top 10 TV Shows Blogfest' Day!  My bad!  This blogfest is hosted by Alex Cavanaugh.

So here are my picks, in no particular order...

1.  Pushing Daisies

2.  The Unusuals

3.  Dexter

4.  CSI

5.  Get Smart

6.  Criminal Minds

7.  The Closer

8.  Nurse Jackie

9.  She-Ra, Princess of Power

10.  30 Rock

Notice how several of mine were cancelled prematurely?  Obviously I think that was a mistake.  Many are, surprisingly to me, ones that are currently in programming!  But there are a few oldies...She-ra was my favorite as a child and I now watch it on Hulu with my son (posted about it here).  Get Smart is a show I was too young for, but think it was just so well-done and hit the comic mark perfectly.  The re-make movie wasn't bad, either.

No surprise there are several detective/murder shows on my list!  Hope you all had fun with this blogfest.  Click around the links to see others' picks.

  1. Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes Dexter, one of the greatest shows ever. Get Smart was classic writing. Love that show. I have to check out Nurse Jackie as a lot of my friends watch it.

  2. Must admit I haven't seen any of the shows, except maybe one or two parts of CSI with the kids. The fact that your favorites were cancelled prematurely, probably means your taste is not mainstream. That's good ... I know some people think I'm a little bit arrogant about books, movies, music and TV, sorry about that >:)

  3. I will never forgive ABC for cancelling Pushing Daisies. I don't hate them enough to stop watching their other shows, but I'll never forgive them.

And I just finally started watching Dexter this summer. LOVE it.

  12. Pushing Daisies made many lists. It didn't make mine because I forgot about it...I keep saying that about so many good shows! I can't believe when you make a list, how many can fall out of your brain! Great list!

  15. I could make a whole top ten list on all canceled shows. Sigh. It happens to the best of us!

  16. I didn't think the UNUSUALS got a fair chance and was cancelled too quickly. The CLOSER was one of those that was cut at the last minute, and DEXTER is a show that I'm watching on DVD but I'm only into the 2nd season. :)

  18. Stephen- We LOVE Dexter, only we gave up Showtime at the very end of last season so we're a little behind. Same for Nurse Jackie, though I REALLY like it: smart writing and great characters.

Cold- I like shows that make me think and have interesting, quirky characters. This means, as you pointed out, they aren't ones that usually appeal to everyone. I'm good with that!

Karen- You made me think...nope, I don't think I watch any other ABC shows! This year Private Practice conflicts with other shows, so it won't make the DVR lineup, which means my last ABC show is off the list! Oh, well.

Mason- You don't strike me as a TV watcher. I wonder what your list would be like...Get Smart was just fun!

Alex- I did. Sorry I was late! Love CSI...but only the original!

Budd- I wasn't into Jem, and I'm a girl, so it was She-ra, not He-man for me. Hope that's okay!

Amanda- Thanks, and I definitely agree!

Clarissa- Curious about what your choices would be...

Bry- I agree! My husband and I mourned Gideon, but soon came to accept the new guy. Ha! Can't even remember his name!

Summer- Can't forget the Princess of Power!

iZombie- What's funny is I saw a He-man toy today! They sell it in a set with Superman. The connection? I don't know, but my son wanted it and he's 5.

Yvonne- Which one did you know? Glad you enjoyed the rest!

Jennie- Definitely. Already seen some and wished I could add 11, 12, 13...But I wouldn't take any off my list!

Stephen- Ha...Sooooooooo witty. Now I have to check your list...

Sylvia- Loved your post today at Patricia's blog. And that was a sad day.

Hannah- Good point. Maybe I'll try that next time.

DL- The Closer isn't cancelled! Kyra Sedgewick just won her second or third Emmy for the show and the next season is in January! We'll have to go the DVD way for Dexter, too.
