I DO ...I really did want to follow up on this one. I DO find music poetic, but I do NOT find this song beautiful. I think this is why I was most moved by the beautiful words in the midst of the rest of it!
Elizabeth Bradley -- would love to know which songs your daughter prefers!

Jim - I like your reaction, Awesomely, I'd say.

MicheleJournoMichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11170364981958685438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7193005159654060545.post-35656252825463709722009-11-19T23:55:18.244-05:002009-11-19T23:55:18.244-05:00My daughter is a singer and she LOVES country musi...My daughter is a singer and she LOVES country music. One bit I've always liked (by Dishwalla) is:

Angels, they burn inside for us
are we ever gonna learn to fly?
Devils, they burn inside of us
are we ever gonna come back down?

Lyrics, poetry and prose are all dependent on sound. They have cadence. That's why I write so my words aren't discordant when read aloud. Sometimes, I choose an album or set of songs and listen to it over and over while I work. It becomes the 'sound' of that particular book for me and captures the overall theme. That way, whether continuing the first draft or re-writing, all I need do is put on that album and I'm instantly in the right mood again. It also allows me to switch between different manuscripts more easily.Lorel Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06749366331989131894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7193005159654060545.post-25094702510360551222009-11-19T20:25:42.078-05:002009-11-19T20:25:42.078-05:00I'm with Jemi...I'd never have pegged it f...I'm with Jemi...I'd never have pegged it for country.
